Why did d.o.c ship a custom Manna Forni oven from Italy to Singapore? Discover the engineering behind the perfect Neapolitan bake and our commitment to quality.

More Than Just an Oven
When we planned our new location at Marina One, we knew we couldn't settle for a standard oven. To serve La Vera Pizza Napoletana, we needed a masterpiece of engineering. That’s why we commissioned a custom-built Manna Forni oven, handcrafted in Italy and shipped halfway across the world to the heart of Singapore’s CBD.
It was a massive investment, but for us, there was no other choice. Here is why:
1. Handcrafted in Naples, Tailored for d.o.c
Manna Forni is a name spoken with reverence by pizzaioli. These ovens are not mass-produced in factories; they are built by hand using artisan techniques passed down through generations.
Our oven was tailor-made to our exact specifications. We worked with the craftsmen in Italy to ensure the dome shape and the floor thickness were perfectly balanced for the way we bake. This allows our chefs to maintain that precise HIGH HEAT environment where the crust chars beautifully while the premium toppings remain juicy and fresh.
2. The "Heat Battery" (Thermal Mass)
The secret to a perfect bake is consistency. Most ovens "recover" slowly—meaning when you put a cold pizza inside, the temperature drops.
A Manna Forni is built with high-density volcanic and refractory materials that act as a thermal battery. It holds a massive amount of heat and radiates it evenly. This means whether it’s a busy Friday night or a quick Monday lunch, every pizza hits that stone at the exact temperature required for the perfect "Oven Spring."
3. A Piece of Italy at Marina One
Shipping a stone oven that weighs thousands of kilograms isn't easy, but it’s a statement of our commitment. We brought the Manna Forni to Singapore because we believe our guests deserve the same quality they would find in a high-end pizzeria in Naples.
It isn't just about the heat; it's about the soul of the process. When you see the glow of the embers inside that custom-built dome, you’re looking at the ultimate commitment to the craft.
